NFL Picks Game Week 13

Tips by (@NewmanEagles) 2nd December 2015

Sunday/Monday Night Games

Arizona Cardinals @ St. Louis Rams (6pm KO)
Looking at the two teams on paper, you’d assume the Cardinals will wipe the floor with the Rams, but the Rams always seem to play all the teams in their division really tough. The Cardinals have arguably the best set of receivers in the NFL at the moment, so providing their offensive line can keep Palmer upright for most of the game, they shouldn’t have too much of a problem scoring in this one. That is a lot easier said than done, the Rams defensive line is one of the better units in the league. I’ve got the Cardinals winning though, mainly because Palmer > Nick Foles.

Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6pm KO)
Since Devonta Freeman got hurt, the Falcons have pretty much collapsed in the past few weeks, where as the Bucs have definitely improved since Winston has stopped turning the ball over. On the other side, I don’t trust Matt Ryan at all at the moment. I like Doug Martin to have another big game against the Falcons, and the Bucs to win pretty comfortably in the end.

Baltimore Ravens @ Miami Dolphins (6pm KO)
Matt Schaub really isn’t the answer filling in at QB for the Ravens, and this game could get pretty ugly for them. If the Dolphins can stop the Ravens running the ball early, they’ll walk this game. If Tannehill and the Dolphins can get Lamar Miller involved instead of just binge throwing to Jarvis Landry all game, they could put up at least 30. Dolphins win by a touchdown or more.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns (6pm KO)
Can the mighty Austin Davis lead the Browns to a massive upset win against the Bengals? No, no he can’t. The Browns defence can’t stop anyone, and I see Gio Bernard having a big game for the Bengals in this one. Rivalry/divisional game are normally where the crazy stuff happens, but I can’t see the Browns shocking the Bengals in this one. Bengals by 10 or so.

Houston Texans @ Buffalo Bills (6pm KO)
The AFC South is a division that clearly no-one wants to win, as somehow the Texans can still make the playoffs. Their defence has finally gone back to what everyone thought it would be as they’ve been playing lights out for the past few weeks. I do have the Bills winning, but in a pretty low scoring defensive battle, which Rex Ryan and the Bills will be happy with.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans (6pm KO)
The Jags & Titans always play eachother close, and they typically split their season series 1-1, which is one reason i'm picking the Titans to win this one. I'm also picking them because I trust their defence more, and the Jags have really struggled defensively as of late. Titans by roughly a touchdown.

New York Jets @ New York Giants (6pm KO)
The bookies have the Jets as favourites, although with Revis not playing for the Jets, Odell Beckham should have a field day in this game. The Giants main concern will be stopping Chris Ivory, and I think they'll struggle to do so. I've got the Jets winning in a close one.

Seattle Seahawks @ Minnesota Vikings (6pm KO)
This is definitely the best game of the 6 o'clock kickoffs. This should be an old fashioned, play defence and give it to your running backs all game sort of match, of both teams would be right to do so. Whoever wins the running back battle will win this one in my opinion, but i'm picking Seattle mainly because I trust Russell Wilson a lot more than Teddy Bridgewater. Seattle by 3.

San Francisco 49ers @ Chicago Bears (6pm KO)
At the end of this season, i'll be shocked if neither of the Bears co-ordinators (offence & defence) get offered a head coaching job somewhere. With the talent they have, the Bears have been awesome in recent weeks. The Niners are just seeing what they have for the last couple of weeks of the season, as they can't really compete for anything. Langford/Forte should have massive games for the Bears, and I have them winning by a touchdown or so.
