Oakland Raiders vs Denver Broncos
The Broncos have started this year 4-0 due to a defence that just won’t lie down. To be perfectly honest I wrote them off a little at the start of the year. Although I do still believe Peyton won’t keep 100% healthy until the end of the year I cannot pick against them at this current time. I just don’t see how the Raiders will put enough points on the board against this defence to beat Denver. Last week the Broncos made light work of keeping the NFL’s best running back, Adrian Peterson quiet pretty much all game. The Raiders lead runner Latavius Murray although speedy will have his work cut out on Sunday. When the Raiders pass they have looked to rookie receive Amari Cooper for the big time plays, but up against the quality in Ware, Talib and Harris Jr they should struggle. They have faced no where near this calibre of defensive players so far this season.
When the Broncos have the ball look for Hillman and C.J Anderson to share the load of carrying the football. Hillmans touchdown last week might breath new life in Anderson as he hasn’t been the force of last year yet. When the Broncos look aerial they will see a defence which has given up the second most passing yards in the league this year. Yes, they do have good pass rushers but if the offensive line can protect Manning he will look for Thomas and Saunders at every single opportunity.
The line is currently at 4.5 at I think that’s too generous not to take straight up. Last year the Broncos beat the Raiders by a combined 57 points and I’m not going to take Oakland to buck the trend.
6pt Denver Broncos -4.5 Point Handicap @ 10/11
New York Giants vs San Fransisco 49ers
The 2-2 Giants host the 1-3 49ers for Sundays prime time match up. This is two teams who are heading in opposite directions. The Giants have been impressive in their last two games, seeing off the Bills and the Redskins. The 49ers have not, after being blown out the water they went down to the Packers last week. The glimmer of hope the 49ers have had this season has been in the form of Carlos Hyde but against this top ranked run defence it does not look for pretty viewing.
Kaepernick is at an all time low of confidence and it’s pretty near impossible to see San Fran turn it around in this road trip to New York. The Giants have been building confidence slowly but surely and will look to put a beating on a helpless 49ers team.
I don’t expect the highest of scoring games but look for Beckham Jr to come up with a nice couple of plays and for the Giants to cover the alternative of -6.
5pt New York Giants -4 Point Alternative Handicap @ 4/5
