RSA Chase

Distance - 3m 80yds

Another race that is one of my personal favourites. Don Poli won this last year and that horse was one of my bankers of the whole festival. I had a tidy sum of money on him ante post and then backed him on the course to pay the day.

I'm a little bit more reserved this year but still really looking forward to seeing No More Heroes who I think could be the real deal in top class staying chases take on More Of That who has been unlucky with injuries since winning the World Hurdle in 2014 when he beat Annie Power.

NO MORE HEROES

Gordon Elliott thinks Cheltenham will suit this horse and it will have to if he's going to get the better of market rival More Of That who absolutely loves it round here. No More Heroes schooled with Don Cossack the other day and Elliott was impressed. Yes he's the favourite and yes he has to beat a horse who is absolutely dynamite round here but I think this could be the one to beat. He ran in last years Albert Bartlett and was unlucky as he tried to go for a gap between the rail and Milsean but the door was slammed shut. He stayed on nicely and finished 3rd. No More Heroes could be a potential Gold Cup horse in my opinion and looks a solid bet here if he turns up instead of the JLT and the Four Mile Chase.

MORE OF THAT

Four appearances at Cheltenham and four wins. Hard to argue with a record like. The winner of the World Hurdle in 2014 where he beat the likes of Annie Power, Big Buck's and Zarkandar. Because of injury we have only seen him three times since that victory but connections are very happy with his two runs this season. His victories over the larger obstacles have been over 2m 4f and 2m 5f but showed that he can get 3m at Cheltenham in his World Hurdle victory. Personally I think More Of That has it all to do to beat No More Heroes but this is a race that I'm really looking forward to.

VYTA DU ROC

Vyta Du Roc is a slight outsider in this field but not one without a chance. He's currently around the 10/1 - 12/1 mark and if you're looking for a horse with a genuine each way chance then I certainly wouldn't put you off backing this one. Some of his form is smart and he hasn't ran bad around here in his two visits with a win and a fourth. His last run over hurdles was a 2nd behind Thistlecrack and although he got firmly put in his place that day it's hard to knock that form because Thistlecrack is now the favourite for the World Hurdle. Vyta Du Roc then went chasing and has won twice in three starts over the larger obstacles. His win over 2m 7f's at Ascot last time out proves that he possesses the stamina required and he's quite versatile ground wise. Vyta Du Roc can hit a flat spot in his races but he might well be flashing home at the finish.
